LAFFITTE OF DELTA DENTAL OF SOUTH CAROLINA NAMED TO LIBERTY FELLOWSHIP CLASS OF 2018

COLUMBIA, SC (Dec. 21, 2016) - Delta Dental of South Carolina is pleased to announce that Spann Laffitte, the company’s vice president of sales and account management, has been named to Liberty Fellowship South Carolina’s Class of 2018. Spann is among 21 dynamic leaders, with proven professional success and a history of significant community engagement, chosen to join the fellowship. He will participate in a seminar series designed to deepen the Fellows’ knowledge, broaden their perspectives and enhance their ability to tackle issues individually and collectively. The Fellows serve as positive influences and catalysts for change in South Carolina.

Liberty Fellowship is an incubator for exemplary leaders in South Carolina that got its start in 2004 with the goal of moving the state forward. Those taking part in Liberty Fellowship engage in a series of five seminars that take place over an 18-month period. Fellows range in age from 30 to 45 years old and are selected each year through a nomination process. Participating in Liberty Fellowship is a lifelong commitment. Currently there is a network of more than 250 fellows across South Carolina.

Laffitte has more than 16 years of professional experience in product strategy and design, network development and sales leadership within the insurance industry. He has served in his current capacity with Delta Dental of South Carolina since 2012. He has a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of South Carolina. Community and professional highlights include serving on the boards of the Friends of Epworth and Salute from the Shore. He is also a former board member of Columbia Green and the University of South Carolina Richland Lexington County Alumni Association. He has served as a member of the Vernon Grants Committee for the Trinity Episcopal Church and is a graduate of Leadership Columbia. He is also involved with South Carolina Dental Association’s annual free dental clinic for adults known as Dental Access Days, supports Delta Dental’s Land of Smiles educational touring theater program and was named one of this year’s “20 under 40” by The State newspaper in Columbia.
